Faith's Power to Move Mountains Even When You Feel Small

Faith to Move Mountains When You Feel Small

Be inspired in faith to move mountains, even if you feel small or buried under mountains of muck.

Estimated reading time: 5 minutes

“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.” ~ Napolian Hill

Tiny ants streamed across the old asphalt driveway I was walking down. Their tiny holes dotted a line across the road. Weeds had sprouted and it looked as if those tiny ants and weeds would cut the road in half if left alone.

Asphalt (and concrete too) contains small cracks that hold tiny seeds carried by ants or water. Those tiny seeds that get stuck under the pavement can sprout and push up to create cracks in the asphalt!

I began thinking about those tiny ants and the microscopic seeds that keep going and growing to thrive under a mountain of asphalt.

Exponential Growth from the Smallest Seed

Jesus teaches that the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, the proverbial smallest of seeds, which when planted becomes the largest bush/tree in the garden. When grown, it provides shelter and shade for birds and other creatures (Matt 13:31).

Jesus’ parable illustrates a kingdom principle:

The smallest of things, when planted and grown, become more than we can possibly imagine! They become large enough to bless us and those around us!

This is how the kingdom of heaven works in our lives, yours and mine!

When we act on even the smallest amount of faith, amazing things happen. We can grow our faith -even if it is small-to move mountains.

The Principle of Exponential Growth

However, we must remember the mustard tree doesn’t grow big overnight. A small seed of faith is planted and time passes.

There are days of drought and days of floods.

Some days the wind beats on the tiny plant.

Yet, it continues to grow until one day it is large enough for shade and for birds to lodge in its branches.

If we continue trusting God with our seed and growing day by day, one day the small thing we only dreamed of becomes reality.

Many times we see the seemingly small, insignificant things became very large in the Kingdom of God.

For example the young carpenter’s son from Nazareth became known as the Son of God.

The guy who ate locusts in the wilderness became known as a prophet.

The crusty fisherman along the seashore became an apostle who preached with with power.

The woman known at the well for having five husbands+, became an evangelist.

The small work begun with 12 disciples changed the world.

The Power of Micro Faith

Jesus tells us that if we only have faith the size of a mustard seed, we can say to our mountains to be removed, and they will obey.

When we hear that we think our mountainous circumstances are simply too big to climb, much less move.

And sometimes we are overwhelmed just looking at the mountains of our circumstances.

However, all we need is micro faith—a small seed of faith, as small as those tiny ants that I saw breaking up the asphalt.

All you need is a small seed of faith to believe God will take what you have and multiply it to move your mountains!

God will help your micro faith grow exponentially to move the difficult mountains in your lives.

  • The daily prayers you pray for your children are building up into a mountain that will destroy the enemy’s mountain.
  • The Words of God you ponder in your heart every morning are building strong faith inside you.
  • The small efforts you make toward your relationship with God and others is growing faith larger than your circumstances.

You may not think these things are very large at first, but they are in fact fulfilling the principles of the kingdom of heaven.

The tree that is planted by the streams of water does not wither, it prospers and yields fruit in its season Psalms 1 says.[1]

You see the secret to the ants is in their ability to do small things every day. Then the small things add up to become huge.

You too can accomplish great things with small consistent actions every day!

Simply believe and begin.

It may not happen overnight, but it will happen!

Faith to Move Mountains

Breakthrough Faith Principles To Move Mountains

Whatever the situation you may be in right now, you too can participate with the Holy Spirit to break through the asphalt covering your seeds.

The smallest bit of faith can move the very thing that would hold you back. The tiniest faith can grow as you exercise it every day by doing the next small thing.

It is a spiritual principle in the kingdom of God that small things grow exponentially larger than we are able to think or imagine.

Believe in the power of the seed. What may not look like much to the world could be the very thing God uses to fulfill all His purposes and promises for your life.

If you feel like your influence is too small or your life too insignificant to make a difference in the world, think of the tiny ants.

Those tiny ants with their continuous small actions every day were moving their mountains! And you can too!

Conclusion: The Impact of Small Actions

Emily Dickinson once said, “If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves.”

So, embrace the power of small, consistent actions. Trust that God is working through your faith, no matter how small it may seem, to achieve great things in your life and the lives of others.

Remember, even the smallest seed can grow into a mighty tree, and the smallest of ants can move mountains.

The smallest step of faith can transform your world.

“Enjoy the little things in life because one day you`ll look back and realize they were the big things.” ~ Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

“If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you!” (Matthew 17:20).
